a murder of crows.

There is a murder of crows in the oak grove,
Laughing at some long forgotten joke,
whispered on the breeze.

The crimson moon rises,
the blazing daystar sets,
the crows laugh and babble in the old oak grove.

i lay beneath the eldest tree,
listening for the wind to whisper
her secret punchline to me.

the midnight sun rises to apex,
the crows long since asleep,
having laughed and gossiped to exhaustion.

still i listen in my long slumber
'neath Yggdrasil in the old oak grove.

the silvery dress of Luna slips
as the young fire is born in the east.
the crows awaken and take flight.

the was a murder of crows in the old grove,
laughing and gossiping, as i passed.
they have left, and taken my soul to Avalon.

along the way the wind shared her joke and we all laughed together.

.............................
.....................
a new traveler visits the grove,
to sit by Yggdrasil the ancient,
the crows gather to hear the jesting winds and await
their charge to carry this ones soul beyond the veil.....

{mixing beliefs is a hobby of mine and sometimes they meld well together here i think they have...
belief one, crows carry the souls of the dead to the land beyond....Native American i think.
two Yggdrasil the ancient....the tree of life from the nords..cant remember the symbolism of the crow in its branches
three Avalon the apple grove of Arthurs resting and one place of being after leaving the mortal coil.
four i believe that a murder of crows sounds like some one laughing when they are all riled up....just me. hope you have enjoyed this. C.S.}
