there is something to the flight of birds
that escapes understanding
a lightness to their spreading wings
the insubstantial weight of fall
I can barely stand it
this thinning of worlds
dazzled in the throes of
its crushing intensity
no rest for me but to
stalk the changing weather
while the sky overhead
casts shadows like messy handwriting
not clouds
but the spaces
between them

Hello Again Kima,

This poem left me a bit speechless

- a good thing. I can't continue to comment on such beautiful poetry without waxing poetic myself! Have you ever entered one of the Eisteddfodeu? I'll look to see. Until the next poem, keep searching for that heady taste of Awen!-Roy

Thank you for your encouraging comments, seabhac star. I took part in the Beltane competition this year but wasn't selected. You've motivated me to try again with this one!
