Opal Moon

Postby Romelia » 10 Dec 2011, 07:50

I sat upon the shoreline
wind rushing through my hair
waiting for my lover
as was said,
we would first meet there.
I was told he would come a sailing
upon a midnight vista,
the moon would be an opal
above the shimmering waves
an omen of passion
over those curvaceous
rolling waves.

The ocean under starlight
black and dripping jewelled
lapping on that shoreline
where
my heart
it lay there bruised.
