Brigit
Lady of water and flame,
set your fire in my head,
that through the flowing of verse,
I may speak truth housed in rhyme and tale.
I will encounter you where your presence is strong.
Where water gushes from the hollow hill,
where springs pour forth milk and blood.
Lady, you make the wells holy.
Those waters you inhabit
and the wolf who guards the way is a creature of yours.
You set the world alight with the promise of re-birth.
Your fiery arrow illuminates my soul
and my hearth fire is kindled with remembrance of you.
Brigit of the three-fold flame.
