A Journey Begins - Feedback & Thoughts Welcome

Postby eagleheart » 26 Aug 2012, 22:50

Greetings everyone- I wrote the following last year (September 2011) shortly after beginning lessons in the Bardic grade. After praying, meditating and relaxing one evening, I received a small but lucid jolt of inspiration. Here it is:

-----
A JOURNEY BEGINS...

A distant, mystical sound, whisper, sight, feeling
Powerful, sanctified, ancient… somehow familiar
Just outside of awareness, understanding, certainty
It quietly calls, beckoning me to join, follow, partake
In a sacred dance, honoring the Creator, the mysteries, all life

Beginning to awake, remember…
Walking in the world, searching, desiring, longing
To reclaim a birthright, freely given, falsely taken
Seeking to unlock that which is heavily guarded, veiled
A key must be recovered, or darkness prevails, for without it

That which has been lost cannot be found
That which is desired cannot be obtained
That which is seen cannot be described
That which is felt cannot be embraced
That which truly exists cannot be manifested

Many paths, worlds, realities
Spirit, soul, mind, light, love, truth
Song, dance, prose, folklore, history
The sea sings a song, the mountain tells a tale,
The oak tree graciously gives untamed wisdom

Older than age, existing before creation, alive before life
A nature not fully ascertainable… wild, mysterious, glorious
A beautiful, dazzling, majestic, jewel
How to access, absorb, integrate, inculcate, share?
Answering the call… my spirit, soul, being, starts to illuminate

A sacred, magical, powerful, journey begins
