The Walker

Postby draconafire » 28 Aug 2012, 16:08

Ever the strange one

While others touch wood
hoping for fair weather
to beckon strides
over stiles and on hills

I scan the heavens
aching to see
that white horses have
abandoned their waves
and come thundering to me

Bringing rain that slips
between cotton and skin
my cold sea-kiss
from Manannan

Greetings sister draconafire

I love short poems but have never mastered the un-rhyming variety, in fact I've only ever completed one. I like my rhymes, so maybe I'll stick to that type... until I write something good, and can't get the rhyming words to fit...!

"white horses have abandoned their waves" - Like you, I also love weather watching. I'm a keen paraglider so I like to know what is heading my way.

"Bringing rain that slips between cotton and skin" - ohh that Manannan's a lad isn't he.

Your poem provides beautiful visions - may you have many more - /|\
