Tool for writing poetry :)

Postby Naleena » 05 Oct 2012, 22:23

I thought I might share a tool I use for writing. There are times when I want to use a more eloquent word to describe something I'm writing about and to help me, I use an online thesaurus. You can type in a word such as "white' and get a list of words to use in it's place.
Some of you may know about this already, but a few may not. Here is a link to one that i like to use. http://thesaurus.com/ It also has a dictionary.
Happy writing!

You are loved....you are wanted....you are cared for. You are not alone.....you are not alone.....you have never been alone.

Hi Naleena

There are so many brilliant help tools on the internet. If you get into Rhyming Poetry, just put this...
- online rhyming dictionary and thesaurus -
into a search - - HERE IS A SEARCH by Google.co.uk

If you need to know how a word is Pronounced - or how many Syllables it has - try here - http://www.howjsay.com/ - This comes is very useful for strange words like Mnemosyne - the Goddess of Muses. When you've heard it once, just 'mouse-over' the highlighted word and the voice will replay.

Now.... tell me what rhymes with 'Poetry'............!

Blessings /|\

Its a great little app with poems from a wide range of poets and read by well known writers and actors. You can also write and upload your own poetry..

"Owe a tree" isn't too far off. Quite appropriate for Druid poetry.

Or "know a tree."

In order to write poetry,
You must get to know a tree.

:-) Yes. Well done.

I realise I owe a tree
More than a line of poetry
But when I see a lime
I just have to write a rhyme.
A chestnut tree is worse
Leading me to speak in verse,
And when I meet a willow tree
I tend towards hyperbole.
