Mayam that was so relevant to me just now! Heart-melting, just when I alchemically needed it. Blessings on your lovely little owl avatar!

From my inspirer:

''Within each of us is the seed of the divine, the potential, which is the Golden Child, the Child of Light, our own sweet, pure, innocent souls. When we enter into that light - we enter into Godde''.

Hello! It's been a while since someone posted on this thread but here's something I came across for the first time today and hit me deeply!

"Don't grieve for what doesn't come. Some things that don't happen keep disaster from happening."

Again, I come very late to the party but I very much enjoyed this thread so I decided to add a favorite poem to it.

Animal Crackers

Animal crackers and cocoa to drink,
That is the finest of suppers I think;
When I'm grown up and can have what I please
I think I shall always insist upon these.
What do YOU choose when you're offered a treat?
When Mother says, "What would you like best to eat?"
Is it waffles and syrup, or cinnamon toast?
It's cocoa and animals that I love most!

The kitchen's the cosiest place that I know;
The kettle is singing, the stove is aglow,
And there in the twilight, how jolly to see
The cocoa and animals waiting for me.

Daddy and Mother dine later in state,
With Mary to cook for them, Susan to wait;
But they don't have nearly as much fun as I
Who eat in the kitchen with Nurse standing by;
And Daddy once said, he would like to be me
Having cocoa and animals once more for tea!

Christopher Morley (1890-1957)

That poem always puts me in mind of childhoods innocence and joy. In fact, now that this lovely thread has reminded me of it, I think I shall quote an excerpt in my signature. Thank you.
Animal crackers and cocoa to drink,
That is the finest of suppers I think;
When I'm grown up and can have what I please
I think I shall always insist upon these.

Wonderful!

Here is one I have heard, author is apparently unknown:

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead.
Do not walk in front of me, for I may not follow.
Walk beside me and be my friend.

Thank you for giving me the name of the ghostwriter. I really like that quote; I've known it for years but this is the first time I have seen it in this context.

Caw, caw....[short burst of flight, then land; ruffle feathers and adjust clawed feet slightly until comfortable on this early autumn day.

Question, for those in the Southern hemisphere. Time zones: what is the time differential from GMT in Western Australia? Is it desert down there? Is it Spring there now? Do you do the same rituals but at the opposite time of the year for the Wheel of the Year?

Northern comrade: lots of rain up here, and luckily woodlands. Hedgehogs and yesterday I really did see live cattle - I suspect they are dairy cattle, locally.

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear" Ambrose Redmoon

This is exactly what I felt in my reaction to a certain situation that left me disabled.

"Travel light, live light, spread the light, Be the light" Unknown
Peace and Blessings to all.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity,
and I'm not sure about the former.

Here's one by Emily Dickinson, one of my favorite poets, on books and poetry.

There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!
I am not young enough to know everything. (O.W.)

For the one on their spiritual journey, if it isn’t within then it doesn’t exist.
Finding what is within through external and internal stimulus – there is the journey,
there is the path to the gods.
That which I am within is that which is within me

A few excerpts from A COMMUNITY OF THE SPIRIT by Rumi (translated by Coleman Barks)

There is a community of the spirit.
Join it, and feel the delight
of walking in the noisy street,
and being the noise

Drink all your passion,
and be a disgrace.

Close both eyes
to see with the other eye

Open your hands,
if you want to be held.

Be empty of worrying.
Think of who created thought!

Why do you stay in prison
when the door is so wide open?

Move outside the tangle of fear-thinking.
Live in silence.
Peace, blessings and harmony- Brian
