Welsh Death Rite?

Postby Siusaidh » 30 Sep 2007, 21:03

Hello Welsh Druids,
I have had an email from a women who has been asked to write a 'Welsh Death Rite' for her brother, she follows a Wiccan path and has spoken to her own elders who can't help her very much.
Does anyone know if there are any Welsh Death Rites? Is there anything she should be doing different from any other part of the UK?

The ceremony is at the end of this month, so if you can contact me if you have any infomation I would be most grateful,
Bright Blessings,
Siusaidh

Um, the best bet I could see is to use a Wiccan version of The Shepherd's Psalm, which can be found here.

I've translated that text, and other parts and added them together to make my, into Welsh. I'll post it up later, as I'm not on my laptop at the moment.

Or the other suggestion is to use somthing like Christians use, such as the last rights, and have them translated into Welsh.

Is that along the lines of what you were looking for?
