On a recent trip to Ireland I had the opportunity to finally make it to the hauntingly beautiful area known as the Burren to realize one of my lifes ambitions... to sit at the base of Pollnabron.
For those who do not now the area they often corrupt the name Burren to Barren, due to acres upon acres of rock. In truth it is far from barren. Wild flowers, likens and moss prevail to soften what can only be described as a mosaic landscape in which sheep hide amongst a few low shrubs.
Pollnabrone is possibly one of Ireland's most photographed tombs, yet in all the photographs I have seen of it, I have never noticed this small standing stone.
is it indeed a standing stone? A gentleman in Doolin said it was the "walking stone"?
Could anyone shed some light on
