New subforum: Sages and Crones

Postby Selene » 15 Dec 2006, 22:17

Because Druid Living has so few subforums (  yeah, right) we thought we'd add one for the "mature" druids on the board to discuss issues relevant to those of us who've been around awhile.

So if you're 50 or older, come join the rest of us well-traveled types as we talk about how, with all our aches and pains, it is harder than ever to climb up to harvest mistletoe these days; how in the good old days we didn't need cordless sickles; and, by cracky, how these young whippersnappers have it so much easier than we ever did...why, we would walk five miles to the grove each day, in blinding snow or baking heat or driving rain, uphill both directions...what is the world coming to, anyway??

You can request membership by clicking on the usergroup link at the top and selecting "Sages and Crones" from the drop-down list, or just contact Kernos or me directly.

See you there. Don't forget the prune juice.

Creakily,
Selene

By the way, the S&C subforum is open to everyone in the target age group, not just OBOD members, in case there was confusion about that.

Crones and sages

Postby Twig » 17 Dec 2006, 08:21

Well, I'm definitely in! The big six-oh, baby!

I didn't feel like I had officially hit "cronedom" until my 60th. I was already getting "m'am" a lot before I turned 60. But the internal process that defines a "crone" has begun to seep into my being now. An interesting process....

I may not act very 'mature' for my age :-) , but I'd like to request admission, anyway.  I've brought a bribe...er...offering, for the Matron of the forum.Image

Dryadia, you need to write a review of the 1st 50 years of your life with your request for admission and send it to The Sage or The Crone

I don't have a clue.  The print is too small for me to read! :-) Image

'Writing' is not my 'thing' (you know that, oh wise Sage and Mentor) , but here's a 'virtual picture portfolio' of some of the 'highlights' of my life  :

The way I see it, the first 50 years were the hardest.
From now on, it's all an easy coast down hill!
