2011 Calendar

Postby fulbert-avebury » 13 Dec 2010, 01:41

I struggle to remember when the major festivals, turns of the year, and dates are for the major or minor celebrations, changes in the moon, stars, and the like are . How do others keep track of these? Paper calendar? Online iCal one to which to subscribe? Specific website?

Now that 2011 is approaching, I want to try to manage and follow these dates in a better manner than I have previously. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The Wheel of the Year gives a good layout of the festivals celebrated by the druids.

James-

Thank you for the image; that is very helpful to see the year holistically.

Do you know if there is a calendar that includes these dates, among others, for 2011 specifically? For example, I know generally when Yule is, though I want something to help me determine it for 2011 and then be able to enter / sync that with my iCal / Outlook.

Anybody know a good druid or pagan ical that we can subscribe to for this? Odd that this is difficult to find (at least difficult to me).

Blessed Yule.

I use an iCal calendar from here. They have several to chose from - depending on the sort of info you're interested in.

Hello Jeffrey, hope your Druidic year is going well. though I do go by calendar fro Solstice and Equinox dates, I look to the world for Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain. There's a feeling in the air around these times, a feeling of change, lengthening or shortening of days, for exampl this morning, I noticed that the Sun rose the left hand side of the telegraph pole, where as it had been rising on the right! seasonal markers are useful, we know that its the time of the summer solstice when the sun shines in through our kitchen window (which faces North) as it sets.

Imbolc is on its way, no snowdrops here yet, but our flowering currant has flower buds on, and that is our sign that the wheel has turned.

may your year be blessed by the wonders of the wheel

Suzanne-

This was so poetic; thank you for the guidance! I have added some of these from various calendars and such, though am thinking about creating my own simple one for 2011 to help me focus on this, and perhaps if I can get it to work, I can share with others.

I think that anything that can help those of us living as solitary druids may be a service to our community (that is our to our dispersed community here in The Druid Grove).
