Any other homeschoolers/home educators?

I have an almost 3 year old that we plan to home school. Right now I don't do any structured schooling with her, but I plan to start a somewhat Waldorf-style kindergarten next year.

Hi, I home schooled my son from age 13. My daughter is 12 now and I am feeling the same urge. I personally find mainstream education acceptable during the earlier years, but struggle with it as the child gets older. I just find myself feeling that so much of my child's time is taken up learning certain stuff, when there is other stuff I would prefer them to learn. The further into the education system they get, the worse it gets in my opinion. Much of what is taught has no relevance to my child's life, or is taught in a way which does not encourage the identifying of a connection, if there is one. Home ed is a big commitment though and I have not been well lately, so would have been unable to put in the full effort required to do it justice. My daughter is not unhappy at school. She has lots of friends and is an enthusiastic learner, but she would prefer to be educated at home for the remainder of her education if possible. I still have all the stuff I did with my son in a box in the attic!

I was homeschooled all the way through my education until I went to college, and my wife and I are planning to do a combination of waldorf and unschooling with our kids. Our oldest is 6, so we're just getting started, but all our kids so far have been very inquisitive, so it should work well.

I am homeschooling my two daughters. My 7 year-old was at school for 2 years, until I couldn't bear it any longer and convinced my husband to let me take her out, and my 4 year-old has never been to school. I wouldn't like to place a label on what we do - the children mostly do what they want, but I often bring out Waldorf-inspired material, or anything else that takes my fancy.

I am using a Waldorf-inspired method to homeschool my 7 year old. We tried an online school last year. It was ok, but Waldorf really sings to us now. I love how the activities can include his younger sister rather that sending her off to occupy herself.

Its lovely to see so many fellow hs'ers! do any of you incorporate any druidic specific things into your hs?

I have now begun homeschooling my daughter (age 13) It is going well and I have no regrets.

We unschool our three babes, who are four, three and one. I don't give them any specific 'druidic teachings', but we do spend more of our day outside than inside, wandering and exploring the world.
