TF3 is a string trio, 2 violins and a double base who were classmates at The Curtis Institute for Music and who were featured on NPR's Performance Today this morning.

Called "the future of Classical music" by someone, they produce a compelling blend of Classical, Bluegrass, Folk and Jazz, from original works to some oldies.

I find them quite interesting for new music. The sound is good, they have virtuosity and develop their works (sadly lacking in most pop music).

The have 2 CDs out and are producing a 3rd. But, you can listen to much of their music on their web site.

They help prove my impression that the best musicians have strong Classical backgrounds, no matter what genre they create..
