Iolaire

Iolaire

I'm shapeshifting,
My arms are my wings.
I'm flying high over the hilltops.
Looking through the eyes of the Eagle.

The wind in my feathers.
Speed, but yet so calm and peaceful.
I can see for miles and miles,
And still everything is so close by.

I'm travelling through time,
I can see the ancestors.
So long ago,
And yet still so alive.

I'm flying back.
Flying back into my own home,
In my own body....
Renewed

This is a short version of an experience I had with (one of 2) my totem animal: the Eagle (Iolaire in Scots Gaelic)

Dobhran,

That was wonderful! A beautiful simply written eloquent piece of evocative poetry. The feeling when one reads it is that of freedom, soaring, seeing, rushing, sailing through the air.

You have captured exactly the elation and freedom of what I understand to be shape-shifting and conjured us all into the form of an eagle to go with you.

From the sea to the sky,
Beith
