This Is My Path

This Is My Path

Hi All,
This is something that came to me after i was talking with Night Hawk on individule Spirituality and how not two people realy believe in the same ways. There paths might be simular but not exactly the same at all.

So Night Hawk Mee-gwitch for the inspiration Hun! :D

This Is My Path

I walk a certain path that I have carved through the mountains and plains for myself,
It is the path I have seen in dreams, heard in voices on the winds, and chose to follow.
I need not ask if you approve or disapprove, for my path is my own.
It is what feels correct for me to do, I do not ask any to follow me,
For this is my path alone, you may walk long the side of me,
But you can not stand and walk in my shoes or trod on my path, for it belongs to only me.

I listened to the voices of the Ancient’s in the breeze among the leaves,
I heard their voices on the crashing waves upon the stony beaches,
I heard their songs in the voices of the winged peoples,
I saw their shadows across the lands and the mountains,
I watched their every move as if they were in a trance dancing,
I watched as they placed their feet in careful planned steps,
I felt their drums beating to the rhythm of my heart.

They embraced my body and Spirit cradling me in blankets of Love,
They opened my eyes to new ways of thinking and new ways to live,
They showed me doorways I had not seen before, and some that should never be opened,
They showed me a way of a peaceful existence filled with Love and harmony
They showed me how to live in balance with nature and my modernistic life.

They taught me sing from within my self first then to sing aloud for all,
They taught me that my faith is my torch alone to carry,
They taught me how to help re-light the torches of others blown out by ill-gotten winds,
They taught me the awesome powers of Love for life and all upon our Mother Earth.

They pointed to me in the direction of the East then said, “Life will begin again there.”
They handed me a Pipe and said “Carry us with you upon your Prayers,”
They chanted in unison “We are there in smoke of your Prayers,”
Then like a fog that had cleared I knew for once in my life just what to do and say.

I know my path shall not be easy and the roads more like jungle trails needing tending to,
I know not many will understand this path I chose to walk, for it is a difficult one,
I know many who have said “If it’s that hard why chose to walk it?”
I have learned to achieve what I dare to dream must be acquired by sacrifice and diligence.
I have come to understand and respect all paths for most paths all lead us in the same directions,
I have learned to walk, dance, sing, speak and live to the rhythm of my own heart my inner drum,
I can show you my path and my road, you can walk beside me, but you can’t walk in my shoes.

I have shown you how I found this path of mine and can share its wonders,
But this is my path and not yours, this is my faith no one else’s.
Be it that I may be imprisoned or even bound taking from me what you will,
Beaten to the ground struggling for breath of life, my faith and path is still mine,
Persecution, doubts or dis-belief matter not to me, for this my faith you cannot take it away from me.
Perhaps one day our paths will cross and meet and greet in joy and part in love and peace,
But first let us par take in meal and spirits and tales, exchange embraces and ideals,
Let us combine our torches so they light up the night, let us combine forces to shield our paths,
Let us stand hand in hand and voices in harmony as we sing in each turn of the wheel of our year,
Let us learn and teach the knowledge and wisdom of our Ancient ones, learning from past mistakes,
Let us embrace the love of justice that lies within knowledge and wisdom,
Let us embrace the love of all life every where, as well as learn to embrace our selves.

For this is my path and I can only walk it, but would love to see you walk it beside me.
For my path and walk are mine, and your path and walk is yours,
For we can share our journey, we can share our love, we can share our love for each other,
For this is my path that I walk and my faith I will carry with me,
It is a powerful thing that can never be crushed, removed or taken away, by trying to do so,
You will only make it that much stronger, and make me more determined to see it through,
This is my faith…my path…my walk…and my shoes.
