Brighid's Offering (Poetry)

"Brighid's Offering"

You have traveled the wheel of the year with me and I have seen your hearts work and desires.
You have kept the faith, true to your words, and so shall I on this our
Harvest Celebration of our lives,
The giving and receiving of hearts, minds and Spirits.
The year has blossomed and fruited,
Now we harvest what we worked so hard to sow.
We look to store the fruits of our labour in our hearts and lives.
As we gather the grains of wheat from their fields for our bread,
We give thanks for this gift.
As we gather the grapes from their vines to make the wine,
We give thanks for this gift.
As we gather our sheep and shear them of their wool,
and while making the twine for our spinning wheels,
We give thanks for this gift.
Now as we gather together we share what we have sowed,
Let us all give thanks for the gifts that upon us have been bestowed.

Very lovely Kaya-Nita. How appropriate to the season!
Did you make this for a chant or a prayer? It is very, very nice.

As I read this, I saw my grove - very evocative.
It is precisely because our present life is so inseparably linked with desire that we must make use of desire’s tremendous energy if we wish to transform our life into something transcendental.  -Lama Thubten Yeshe

There are two ways to look at life. One is as though nothing is a miracle; the other is as though everything is. -Albert Einstein

Mee-gwitch guys, we were in the midst of script workshop for Elfed and feeling Brighids pull very strong i asked if i may take the role and when i was told yes her words poured as if to say, she was pleased i spoke up.

Usaully a role like this i will try and dodge and stick to nice and safe North but this time she nudged and i took heed. This is not a gift for just me but for all to share in. :brigit3: :brnbear: :awen: :awen: :awen:

I'm very glad you decided to share it Kaya-Nita. I know so very little about Brighid. Somehow this makes me feel like I've learned a little about her. Thanks for that.

This is prayer-like as others have said. There's a wonderful circular, wholesome feeling to it. Oh, I hope that being a Bard will improve my critical skills! I love it though :-D

Thank you for sharing this one Kaya-Nita! It's lovely!
Pay attention to the path, and learn the hard way.  The easy way is fun and entertaining, but you take away very little.

Mee-gwitch Kaya-nita for sharing with us the fruits of your labour, at this Harvest-time.

Hawky
She's the goddess of love
The goddess in green
The goddess of all
That I've ever seen
The goddess of hope
The goddess in brown
The goddess of all
That you've burned to the ground
