Edge - Poetry

Edge

I wanted to taste life at the edge.
With boundaries. But loose,
all at the same time.
There is the challenge.
The crossed lines.
Some jar. Some don’t resonate.
Don’t dismiss. Don’t filter
the rawness of experience.
Bathe in a sensory waterfall
and drink in what you will.
What is needed? What is
essential to tasting?
The rawness. The sensuality
of it. Don’t think too hard.
Just be, with the boundaries
within the looseness.
Boundaries bring safety
to experience. I need this.
But I want to taste life at the edge.

Very nice it can be exciting sometimes on the edge but careful you don't tumble either way. :-D :brnbear: :awen:

'I need this.
But I want to taste life at the edge.'

Absolutely Natalie. We love the security but there are times when a little 'edge' seems very appealing!

This is a very good poem! It really makes a person think and that's what poems are for.

I think that "edge" is the spice of life. You captured that spice within the words of the poem. I enjoy thought provoking poems. :raven:

Oh I like this. Nice to be reminded...sometimes you don't know you've been cut until the blood comes, when it's a very sharp edge!

Natalie, that is really organic and like a "rag" (in a music sense) that is loose yet feeling and expressive, like a fire dances.

The "edgi-ness" is transmitted to us through the staccato rhythm of the poem. Great poem for Samhain.
