My room is getting cold
As night approaches
So I go
To close the window
As I pull it down
A softness brushes my hand
A spider's web
A creature's home
I draw my hand back
For I do not wish to break
This little home
That such a small creature did make
I wonder where the spider is
I hope he/she is in my room
I have no fear of spiders
They are always welcome in my home
To build their homes
A home within a home.

I understand webs are also little traps for flies. However, I think of the web as the spiderhome.

A beautiful tribute to the spider. I, too, like spiders. She is one of my totems. Thank you for posting this poem. :raven:

i have to admit i'm not a spider fan. There several i'm alergic to their bites and there have been afraid of them since i was small. Boy that was in the jurasic period i think. :-)

But i do marvel at their webs and the special ways they help us all. Very nice reminder to look beyond our own realm :-D :brnbear: :awen:
