[Underground River]

People

People are like gems
With many facets
Many faces
Many sides
People are like rainbows
A little bit of every colour
Everything they do is hard to measure
How can anybody ever know
Another person?

This poem was inspired by the fact that all people are multi-facetted and also by the number of amazing entries in this competition. There are so many sides to everything and everybody that nobody can ever figure anything or anybody out.

Simple and to the point. The message is not drowned out by flowery words. Everyone is unique in the grand scheme of the universe. In a world will so many try to be the same for acceptance, it is nice to be reminded of precious individuality.

But isn't it so wonderful that each of us is so unique and all can come together here and see all walks of life.
