Sonnet to Earth
Feel the cool Earth under your feet
Make a connection with our Mother
Green and brown swirl and meet
Spread her love to one and other
Bull, Goat, and Virgin dance
To the song of the elusive elves
Hug a tree - take a chance
Open up to Her nurturing within ourselves
See pentacles when the card is turned
Be earthy but do not covet material things
So the lesson is internalized and learned
From Gaea’s tarot wisdom springs
Sapling to tree to rotting log replenishing Earth
Softly nourishing the sleeping seed with the promise of rebirth
Sonnet to Fire
The eternal spark was said to be flame
Replacing Chaos with wondrous life
So it was from blazing Fire that everything came
Within Creation Fire was rife
See the Archer hunt with the Lion and Ram
The bow is nocked with three rays
The Awen is creativity’s Dam
Internally, passion and inspiration ablaze!
The Red Jin touches the dragon tarot
The cards transform into wands
Only to be pierced by the three tipped arrow
And the bard’s pen finally responds
Fire’s triad is truly easy to see
With passion and inspiration magick flares within me
Sonnet to Air
Breathe the incense – expand the mind
Embrace the evanescent Air
Intellect and reason forever entwined
Seeking answers to myth and prayer
Twins and Water Bearer carry the Scales
To balance pundits and poets
For stark intelligence without emotional hues
Is like a diamond lacking facets
The faeries play with the oracle cards
Which transmute to swords in their tiny hands
While sharp wit is the ambrosia of bards
Fantasy’s sweet nectar makes many demands
Intellect is needed to change history to song
But bereft of emotions is intrinsically wrong
Sonnet to Water
Dive into the well to feel Water’s reviving embrace
Seek out the primordial wisdom of the Salmon
Roots of the World Tree create a sacred space
Bringing relief to ignorance’s strife and famine
Crab and Fish use the Scorpion’s sting
To paralyze benightedness and disease
Healing flows from the mystical spring
Therapeutic elixir for the seeker, Earth, and trees
The cards turn into Cups at the mermaids’ demand
To capture three drops from the Water
Ignoring an angry goddess’s firm command
They heal and teach the salmon’s daughter
That wisdom and healing are connected
Mind and body introspected
