Ken Bigley

And to this day,
As days over a thousand years ago
Having been this way
In utter hate so

The brother against brother, Age-old battle's way
Generation’s children bearing such hate
Comes to me this day
In this one man's sad fate

Over the deep greed and religious fear
Into the blood red sky's amber dress
Humanity cries from this spirit dear
To please put an end to this awful mess

As his spirit rises over this earth
I wish him safe passage assent
In his heaven to have birth
As his urgent message is sent.

From a very sad heart pained by this news

You made me cry...I will never understand people that support violence for the sake of their god. Even the Book of the Cow condemns the terrorists actions. You have said so much with few words..the mark of a true poet.

I wish Ken peace and safe journey...:candle:

Forgotten Sons - Marillion

And so as I patrol in the valley of the shadow of the tricolour I must fear evil
For I am but mortal and mortals can only die
Asking questions, pleading answers from the nameless faceless watchers
That parade the carpeted corridors of whitehall
Who orders desecration, mutilation, verbal masturbation in the guarded bureaucratic wombs
Minister, minister care for your children
Order them not into damnation
To eliminate those who would trespass against you
For whose is the kingdom, the power, the glory for ever and ever
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen

Such a sad subject, Merlyn, but a lovely tribute. For the passing of Ken Bigley... :candle:

A time,

Postby Merlyn » 11 Oct 2004, 14:36

Blessnings all,
I find poetry here, at this time as in death is a message. It is here the wisdom of it must not be lost. (surely it is by too many).

This event does as the killer intends, draw the sword of the ancients through time to this day. It is a chilling and sobering wisdom.

It is a sadness also. I feel a cry, one old as time itself.

The wisdom isn't lost Merlyn - you penned it well. Why people have to fight over religion is lost on me, killing is completely lost. Thank you again for posting your message in such poignant poetry. Maybe the day will come when a white buffalo is born again, and survives.
