The wheel Turns

The wheel has turned, as the year ends,
The earth she sleeps, the veil is thin.
The Goddess takes the guise of the wise old Crone,
Her God has now journeyed to the underworld,
Where he can rest and prepare for his coming rebirth.

So we too must rest, as the darkness draws close,
It is time to retreat to our inner selves,
To look within, at lessons learned and experience gained,
At the fruits of our harvest, from the year gone before.
May these lessons inspire us, in spirit and heart.
For the time has now come, to let go of the old, and to welcome the new.

Every experience is precious, it’s the stuff from which we grow,
What is past is gone, we must look to the new, accept the change, embrace the pain,
For these are a part of our journey, like the joy the love the fun.
Sadness helps us heal, whilst laughter gives release.
All are a part of our journey, spinning on the wheel as it turns.

The wheel of the year is a circle, and a circle never ends,
The setting sun will rise again,
From Dark, the light will come again,
The seed will rise from the ground again,
At Beltane we will dance again,

As the wheel begins to turn again.
As the old years dies to let in the new,
We welcome the dark, we discard the old.
For we know the light will soon return.

This is the best part of the poem ... and it is excellent! It races the beating of the heart like an urgent drumming!

This is so true!
Such a wise poem to help us remember the wheel as it turns.
If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.--Mark Twain

I love the triple wheel..(to let go of the old, and to welcome the new)..the external one of the seasons...the spiritual journey of the god and goddess...and the internal one of lessons..all interwoven in one beautifully written poem...

Oh, Ronwen - this is terrific stuff! Really! Sorry - I sound like a gushing 16-year old but this is really good. Thank you.

It is precisely because our present life is so inseparably linked with desire that we must make use of desire’s tremendous energy if we wish to transform our life into something transcendental.  -Lama Thubten Yeshe
