The Election

Four years ago
One was elected
A president
Of the one superpower
Now in this year
Two thousand and four
November the second
An election takes place
The whole world watches
Purched on seat edges
Hearts racing
Wondering who
Will lead for the next
Four years
Will it be the same man?
Or will it be the other
Nobody knows
November second dawns
Voters rush to polls
Pencils mark ballots
Secret
Hidden in paper
Locked in boxes
People go home
Go on with lives
Rest of the world waits
Watches, wonders
Trembling with anticipation
Good or bad we're not sure
Counting, counting,
Endless unmitigated counting
Wondering
Who will win...
We know now
Probably
Who it is
Some people rejoyce with the news
The hopes of others are dashed
The winner celebrates his victory
The loser tries to pick
Up the peaces of
Himself
Four years of the one
The people have elected
The citizens have spoken
Their man will be in office
Until the next election
When
The whole process
Will repeat.

That pretty well sums it up! Good job. :)
Willow the still inkless

Peace over anger. Honour over hate. Strength over fear.
