Boredom (poetry)

Boredom (poetry)

Boredom

Poison
Flowing through me
Put there by
Boredom
I sit
Waiting for
Something to happen
Poison burning
Through me
Killing mind
Killing spirit
Agony
Boredom lives
Within me
Exhausted
Sleeping too much
Dragged down
Can't remember
What I did yesterday
Probably nothing
Like every day
Dying of boredom
Poison
Wake me up
From this sleep
Light a fire
Under me
To move me off the chair
Where I sit
Poisoned
Take me out
Show me the world
Antidote to boredom
Is outside the walls
Of the house
Give me reason to do something
Give me a responsibility
Give me work
Give me play
Give me days so packed
And busy
That I fall into bed
At night
Without feeling this poison
Burning
Through
My blood
Sluggish
Inertia, dragging
Massive, tonnes of rock
Leaden, grinding, trying
To move somewhere
Fire reduced to ashes
Water still, unmoving
Air stail, dead, windless
Vacuum isolation
No sound, no air, no matter
Light far away somewhere else
Forest, green, somewhere
Where are you, forest?
Where are you, rushing river?
Where is the earth, moving, changing, being shaped
By forces?
Where is the wind, blowing, rushing, screaming?
Lightning, thunder, hail, all sleeping
Exhausted, poisoned, dragging
No energy, no fuel
No substance, no food
Just poison, boredom, sleep
Just dragging, just lifelessness
Waiting, only waiting
For something
To happen.

My darling GD, that is beautiful. Maybe you should go out on an excursion with all the other blind women I know in Canada! I mean gosh, there must be 20 or 30 of 'em!

Most of the people I hang out with are on the net and sighted. Most of those people are on this board. ;-)
I want to go walking in the woods next year with a sighted guide so I don't get lost. lol
Glad you liked the poem. Btw, how do you type that wink emoticon? I know it as a semicolon and a right perren but that seems to be a blink...?
