The Wizard (poem)

[Underground River]

The Wizard

I cannot figure out
The wizard
Who he is
I cannot understand his magic
I cannot know his power
I think he is tall and graceful
Mild, calm, unruffled
But also terrible when angry
A truly fearsome enemy to have
Be his friend
His magic is not performed lightly
He is not a man who does tricks to cheering spectators
He really believes he is performing spells
He is ethereal, lively, almost wild
He is unknowable
This wizard
He knows strange and magical things
Things I would be better off not knowing
He knows too much
His eyes are haunted by his great burden
Of knowledge
My burning question is
Would I want to be him?

This is a bit interesting because I would like to think of myself as a wizard even though I am female and should be a witch. :lol: I dunno why I want to be something magical...probably reading too much Harry Potter.
