Dark days

Dark days

Postby Creirwy » 09 Dec 2004, 13:35

I long to be outside again,
Running through the meadows,
Picking a the friendly daisies
Playing with the butterflies
Wondering how to pull their wings off

Buried deep within the sea
Bound in a leather sack
I long to plunge my hands
Deep into the damp rich soil
The soil of my Mother Earth

My ears are fulfilled with the
Rushing and giggles of the water
How I long for the precious
Whispers and caresses of the winds
The gracious wisdom of the trees

All my life I have felt like this
Inside the leather sack
Only now I understand how and why
Needing to realize to feel the isolation
To then see the sweet lights I’ve never seen before

Hope you enjoy my first poem on here!

Very nice, very gleeful.

It remains me of poem I can't quite remember that says something like:

It's the teeny tiny riders
who have more fun
on any sort of merry-go-round
than the grown-ups who get dizzy.

I have read this many times and relate to it more with each reading. Thank you.
