Please say a prayer for Daraoi

Postby Eilthireach » 17 Oct 2005, 08:55

Dear brothers and sisters,

it is my sad duty to inform you that our sister and my friend and spiritual companion of many years, Daraoi (Traci Sheckler) is passing away.

She is from Portland, Oregon, USA, and we met on the old OBOD boards in the year 2000. We were brand new Bards then and so we chose to walk through the grades together. We never met in person, but we corresponded on a daily basis and this way got to know each other quite closely. We completed the formal studies of the Order in 2004.

She was suffering from a rare sort of cancer for two and a half years now and seemed to fight against it quite successfully, but her state has suddenly deteriorated and doctors say that she will go on her journey to the Isles in the West during the next 24 hours.

I will accompany Traci with my prayers and I invite you to join me. May her passage be easy and peaceful, and may her suffering finally find an end. May the blessing of the gods, the ancestors and the spirits of nature shield her on her last journey.

Sometimes, there seems to be so little that we can do...

Eilthireach /|\.

May Traci pass peacefully into the Summerlands, where perhaps she may continue to support us as one of the inner guides of the Order.
Blessings to her and her family, and those who have been touched by her light in life.

Second, it is violently opposed.
Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

I am relatively new to this board and so hers is not a name familiar to me. But, as the old saying goes "Don't ask for whom the bell tolls..."

My thoughts and sympathy to her husband and family and to you Eilthireach - yuo have all clearly lost someone very dear to you.

May the Gods grant her an easy passage across the bridge and bring her invigoration and renewed strength for her return to this realm whenever she sees fit so to do.

Blessings

Mike
