My dear friend and neighbour Mandy made her transition to the Summerlands on the 31st of July, her funeral was yesterday, 6th August. She was 40 years old. In 2006 she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the same time my darling Badger was diagnosed with oaesophagael cancer; they were quite a pair, both refusing to be down beat or pessimistic and rising above the wave of well intended sympathy by being thoroughly irreverent in the face of it! They gave her the all clear, only for her to succum when it spread to her liver. She was completely open and full of life and joy, right until the end, when she told her sister she would like to close her eyes and go now, and she did.
She leaves behind her husband Gary, and her daughter chloe, 13. Her funeral was attended by the whole village, they had to open up the church hall and set up a PA to cope with the overflow. Her life was full of giving, she was a carer, a classroom assistant at our primary school and forever "being there" for anyone who needed a hand, and she so loved her life in the community in which she was born.
This is so hard for all those who loved her, and with Badger fighting his own battle with cancer again, I know this has affected him deeply. Please remember her and her family in your devotions, and all those who are fighting dis-ease.
Thankyou.
Blessings,
