My son found a very young kittie laying by the side of the road with no visible injuries other than it just lays there unable to move the top part of her body including her front paws. She looks to be 4-6 wks old. She is very alert, moves her back legs & tail, and she can lift her head and turn it when she is lying down, but seems pretty wobbly when I hold her up. She is purring quite a bit, and not having difficulty breathing, but very thin. For right now I cannot afford to take this poor little thing to the vet, and I'm sure if I did he would recommend putting it to sleep anyway. I've given her a bit of diluted 2% milk with a dropper and she takes it all without choking, and water. She is pretty fiesty, even as bad as she is, because she tries to scratch me with her back legs, so I'm guessing she is feral and not someone's kitten(there are a huge population of ferals in the country).
Anyway, I'm very saddened because I think it is only a matter of time and even tho I didn't know this kitten, you know when they look at you with those big eyes, it's hard not to having feelings for it.
I don't know what I'm asking for here, whether to pray that she gets better(slim) or that she goes quickly & peacefully in her sleep....
I'm already teary eyed just thinking of it and my heart is aching...
