Little Katie

Postby Lady Nimue » 13 Feb 2007, 14:59

Dearest little Katie...

Last week, I had the bittersweet task of helping you die peacefully. This after 9 years of nursing and caring for you. Little kitty, I remember the first time I met you....so small, yet so much catittude. I smile at the memory of you being in my home so many times.....thru each Hurricane, every trip your parents took....you came over and warmed my heart. I learned so much from you, about life and love, and about nursing an animal with kidney and thyroid issues. I thank you for these lessons, as I believe they will help me to care for others, and to empathise.
I adore you little Katie, and I hope that my love made a difference in your life...I hope me holding you as you took your final breath, brought you comfort...I hope you know how dearly I love you, and how much you will be missed.
I know you are at peace, and I believe the burial I arranged did you honour and will bring peace to your Mom, as well.
Enjoy your bliss little Katie. We will meet over the Rainbow Bridge, I love you and will hold you again.

Lady Nimue --

I just now found this. You wrote a beautiful tribute, so full of love and gratitude. The grief of losing a pet is a Big Grief. My condolences....

Oh Twig...you are so very kind. Actually, Katie was my "niece"..I was her caretaker for 9 yrs. and I miss her so very much, as I used to see her daily. I am taking her Mom to the Pet Cemetary, as that is where I had her buried, and then to the pound to find a new little, blessed firned.

Twig, I did lose my beloved dog...actually, she is my soulchild, and I grieve her every minute. Her name was Sandi, and I wrote a tribute to her, here, as well. Your well wishes, are felt, and I thank you deeply.
