Little Turtle

I just found out that a baby Slider turtle that I rescued yesterday, had to be euthenised.
Many rescues I have done, have been put down humanely, but this little one was special, because I saw him crossing the road, stopped my car, and alerted traffic as I have done many times before...but he was a baby and only seconds before I reached him, some moron ran over him. The idiot saw me, heard my pleas, but didnt stop, even after hitting the babe.
Im so sorry he never had the chance to live....so sorry.

I have a special fondness for turtles and tortises, and it made me really sad to read about this poor little guy. Your kindness balanced out the cruelty of the driver who ran over him. At least he was with a loving presence when he left this world. I do believe animals of all kinds know when love is present.
