In memory of Tara/Tarawoof

Postby Donata » 16 Aug 2010, 16:38

My 11 1/2 yr old German Shepherd companion Tara passed to the Summerlands on July 10. She had her own account here as Tarawoof and took part in several pub crawls

I miss her very much. She slept on my bed for 11 yrs and was with me nearly full time. She especially loved car rides, and is the only dog I've even known who greeted strangers and let them pet her when she was in the car. She wasn't a good guardian - she met strangers and friends alike at the door wagging her tail, with a toy in her mouth and hopeful expectation in her eyes. :D

I was at Brushwood at a festival when she died. She had been at the kennel less than 2 days. I grieve for her, especially that she died alone, without me there.

May she play happily in the Summerlands with my other companions and may the all greet me when it's my time.

So sorry to hear about your dog Tara, Donata, I'm sure she loved you every bit as much as you loved her and she is still with you in your heart. She will know that you would have been with her if you could and I'm sure that all the thoughts you have had about her since will speed towards her in the summerlands where she is enjoying herself immensely doing lots of interesting doggy things. She will be there waiting for you.

I am sorry you have lost Tara. She sounds beautiful it is sad you weren't with her but she obiviously had a loving and safe home.

I imagine when people call and there is no toy and joy from Tara to greet them you miss her a lot.

With light and blessing for you and Tara in her journey in summerlands

I am so sorry to hear that Tara has passed on and grieve with you Donata. She was a good companion and a great story teller and will be immortalized here.

Donata - I am truly so sorry for your grief. :-( May it be eased by the peace of undimmed love, and the knowledge of joy to come in the Summerlands.

I bet i know what Tara is doing right now in the Summerlands :) Having an endless game of fetch with your friends!
Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance, I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears, Looms but the Horror of the shade
And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

Dear Donata, I am so very sorry and so sad to read about Tara travelling to the Summerlands...
Maybe Tara wanted to spare you and choose her moment to go...
A huge hug to you and a lick-lick from my german sheppard Chamane.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone.

Yes, Tarawoof took part in several pub crawls! She was the ever faithful loyal tracker of lost hamsters - she lost her red toy somewhere near a pyramid, and she enjoyed her time at the pub with her friends.

I believe she chose her time to go - I feel it strongly and several others have said the same thing. It is so like her bright innocent and joyful spirit to do this. She went quickly without lingering illness or anything that could slow her down.

My bed is neat and clear of hair - but so empty! Car rides and walks by myself feel strange.

Oh Donata,
I have been away and only just read this. I know how much you were part of each others' lives, and I send warm wishes that your grieving is short and that you will meet and travel with Tara on the astral plane on a regular basis.

Warm hugs to you.
