I learned that seeds sown in the crisp new light of spring become fruit for the harvest as autumn's chill returns.

Hi folks.

A member requested that I turn this thread into a Sticky, as it has been beneficial to so many people.  I'm happy to oblige, and I have learned today that sometimes being sticky is good.

What I learned

Postby Soulsearching » 16 Sep 2006, 00:49

Today I have learned that it is ultimately me that can make me happy. No one else can have an effect on this unless I ALLOW them too. Thus it only makes sence that it is only me that can make me mad, upset etc.

I have control over my own emotions and they are reflective of what is in my heart. Let it be my "golden" heart that shows not my black one! :)

I have a favorite saying to go with this line of thinking given to me by a good friend Clayton Baldwin,
"Everyday is a Holiday!!"  Lets enjoy it!! Cheers!!
Define Normal, you can't what you view as normal is completely strange to someone else, this does not make them or you wrong just different!!

Today I learned that just because things don't go according to plan exactly, doesn't mean there isn't a plan being followed.

If that makes any sense...

I discovered that I can strengthen my spell by chanting so close to the paper that I make it vibrate... I like that detail. :merlyn:

Hi all
This is a great thread and shows me that we all have to learn similar lessons in our own way and in our own time. I found myself nodding and smiling wryly at many of the teachings brought to different people. Such is life, and recently it has taught me that there are valuable lessons in not quite being as good as you thought you were!

Today I learnt that I am the mirror of my lifemate. I live the feelings he doesn't "want to have" or he "forgot" about.
Today I learnt how to tell him I don't want to stand that much longer. (It is his theme and not mine.)

Today I learnt I'm still a strong woman because I can handle with emotions. So many people can't.

Today I am learning how to find the balance between following your path and helping those you love follow theirs.  Its about finding ways to have fifty fifty. Give and Take. Helping each other by benefiting from each others differences. As every path lacks one thing so it has another to offer.

Today I learnt that it is OK to show people how bad you feel and how vunerable you feel. You can't pretend you are not distraught by the events that upset every one- you are human.

I think this is a thread that runs through my life when disaster strikes and everyone is upset I stay calm, swollow my grief and support everyone. I find it so hard to tell people I am upset. Before now I have gone to work after an Auntie died and not told anyone because I just could not express my grief so I swollowed it.

I learnt today that I can express distress and other people can handel it. If you go about calm no matter what you never give people the chance to look after you.

 not crying because sad just a good lesson for me to learn today

Today Once again I got confirmed, that Emotions aren`t negative or posetive...
They are tools, that if we learn to use them make our livs posetive, but if we deny or repress them make our lives negative...

It`s not the emotion it-slef that is loaded with posetive or negative,it is you who gives it it`s cuality and value....

A bit like drugs, and medicine....
Lots of plants are medicine in the right dose, but  if exaggerated  it becomes a drug...

It`s not the plants fault that you can`t control yourself... And it doesnt make the plant negative either...

I need to learn to recinize eacth emotion for it`s true cuality, and put it use, instead of crying because it is blokking my way ahead...

Big-onno... :trefoil:

I learnt a few things today:

Exercising too much when you're not used to it makes your muscles ache immensly the next day.

Baby Seagulls are very fluffy and look as big as adult Seagulls 'cause they're all puffed up.

Donkeys are really nice to stroke.

I found out what Lobster tastes like. (I feel sorry for the poor Lobster though : S )

I learnt how to burn frankinsense, and what it does. (haven't put this in to practice yet though!)

EDIT: Oh and I've just learnt that pressing a light switch with your nose can be very hard.

Sorry if these things are all mundane : S I guess it says 'Worth Sharing' on the first post, but who knows, someone might enjoy reading what I just wrote.

What have I learned today:
You can't suppress who you are.  People will see it, no matter how you try to cover it up.

What I learnt yesterday:
An hours worth of heavy gym work can really help you prepare for meditation! :D
"Don't look to the end of the rainbow for the pot of gold; it's already under your feet"
Enjoy this life. It would be a shame if we looked forward to the next, only to find we forgot the one before.

I realised today that I can be a truely horrible person, and that have been hurtful and insensitive to someone I love. I now feel very ashamed, and not entirely sure how to go about trying to put this right.
