Remembering my father

Postby blackwolf » 06 Oct 2006, 17:23

Hello everybody,
Not sure whether this is the place to remember someone who's been gone for quite some time, but why wouldn't it be!
A few days ago it was 20 years ago that my father died (of cancer), i was 12 at the time.
I didn't really have a very good relationship with him. I've been told that was because i was so much like him. I've been having some therapy on and off for the past two years to sort out a few things, and now for the first time in my life i can say that i'm alright about the whole thing.
Probably the reason why i suddenly felt the need to write this here. A year ago i absolutely wouldn't have dreamt about doing anything of the sort.
Anyway, here's to you dad  :candle:

It's absolutely right to remember your dad here Blackwolf and anyone of course long or recently passed. I'm really glad the therapy has helped and that you have come to an understanding and acceptance. Perhaps your ability to write it here is a form of release.

Here's to your father - if life exists beyond here, may he be enjoying his in the otherworld

Dear Blackwolf,

I was really touched by your story. You've done the right thing. And remember writing down your thoughts is a good remedy itself.

For your father :candle:
and for you :candle:

Greetings, Blackwolf!

I was very moved by your story.

It's been thirty years since I lost my Dad.  I was denied a very close relationship with him due to my parents' divorce, and then a senseless act of violence no one saw coming from an ex-girlfriend of his.

I feel it's important to keep relationships with the one's we love very close, because, as many others here can attest to, we never know when it's time to move on to the otherworld.

Blessings on you and yours!
