I guess I need to do this too eh?

I'm a 33 yr old Dutch male, living in Rotterdam.
I'm in the process of re-discovering myself and where I was atheist in the past I'm discovering Druidry in the now.

I work as a vessel-planner for one of the worlds leading stevedores, APM Terminals. This job is the one that I can do until I retire!
Fortunately, APM is part of the Maersk-group, which means I found a boss which is heavily involved in making ships that are environmentally a lot better than what the competition has to offer ( but I can fill another thread with that! ).

Off the job, I am a father of 2 girls. I read a LOT and have discovered gardening last year, moving in to herbal gardening this Spring.

I'm not a member, because I have some reservations, but I do enjoy spending my time on this board, talking to like-minded ( and some not-so-like-minded ) people.  :-)

Anything else you want to know... just ASK!

Thank you for your warm welcome!

This board is quite big, so it takes me some time to read through it ... but it is fantastic and I'm really happy that I found it. :)

Blessings

Mmm, hello,
I'm Athene (Ah-THEEN-Ah), 15, from PA, USA.
I think it's less right to say I discovered Druidry two years ago than it is to say I RE-discovered it.  When I was younger I was a druid without even knowing what that was.  I left offerings to the spirits under an old oak tree and I gave small animals funerals in my sacred place.  I breathed on the leaves of sick trees to heal them.  I had a natural sense of the way life was, of deity, of EVERYTHING that I somehow lost and am trying to recover.  It may seem funny for a teen to be trying to reach her "inner child", but it is apropriate here, partly because circumstances made me grow up quickly.

As I said in the thread I posted, I'm having difficulty accessing information about the Druid path, but I hope I will find more here.   :D

Central PA.  I like your avatar, Jingle.  Have you been to Hawk Mountain?  When we went, we only saw a Northern Harrier and a few Broad Winged Hawks.

Thanks for the Cocoa and the welcome, Dryadia.

Athene,
Hawk Mountain is one of those places that I'd like to get to once a month.  We went in October and November, but December I hurt my back and I'm now waiting for the snow to melt.  I'm chomping at the bit to get up there again, even though Hawk Migration season is over.  Both times I've been there, there hasn't been much wind, so there weren't many hawks.  We'll definitely go back in March!
Light,

Jingle

Hello, I'll introduce myself as Maerryn. I live the north of England, where I have some good friends, but my heart is in the south, that's where I feel comfortable.

I came to druidry very late (big number birthday this year  :-(  ), having had a look at islam  :o , buddhism, hinduism and denying everything along the way. I had looked at druidry about 7 years ago when I "came out" as a pagan, but it just didn't feel right. I was being pushed hard towards wicca by some people, and I knew that wasn't for me, and locally I have found many very nasty people who are wiccans I shy away from others who say they are wiccan too. My apologies, but there has been too much suffering here at the hands of the few. I know there are good wiccans out there, just not round where I live.

Somehow I've grown into my head (or perhaps grown up?   ), and I know that the druid way of life is for me.  :cloud9: I just feel so much more comfortable, less stressed and more in tune with life since coming to that decision. Does that make sense?

I'm a very private person, and it's good for me that druidry allows for the solitary as well as anyone who wants to be in a group.

It's so cosy here, everyone is so friendly, and I know I've "come home".

M
