Dear Katie,

I am writing this as there was so little time at the vets yesterday afternoon for a proper 'Farewell' and sadly your passing was not as peaceful as had been hoped for due to your condition. Please say 'Hi' to Sidney, your brother, for me and to all my other 'babies' waiting at 'The Bridge' and give them all my love.  Sammy also sends his love - he is a very lonely and confused little fur person this morning without you. Thank you for the lessons you have taught me over the years.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts for both Katie and myself. The past 4-5 days have been very stressful/difficult for me. In addition to Katie's unexpected and difficult passing on Wednesday, we had taken another of our cats to the vets on Monday for a routine check-up and blood tests. On Tuesday we were told that in addition to developing hyperthyroidism 'Bilbo' also had some signs of liver damage. As Bilbo's general quality of life is still good (he will be 15 years old on 1st April) we are trying daily medication and keeping our paws crossed....
