Offering to the Forum Gods...

Postby John T. Folden » 04 Sep 2007, 02:59

I'm not quite sure where to post this but considering it has to do with the new forum...

I took a free moment today to play around in Photoshop and tweak the site_logo.gif files used by the SubSilver2 and ProSilver themes here. I gave them a transparent background and attempted a few others tricks to get them to blend in with the background color. I'm not saying they're better, etc, but if the person handling that aspect of things would like to take a peek they are free to use them. Otherwise, feel free to trash them. :shake:

(note: These are of absolutely no use to regular forum users, feel free to ignore)

Thanks very much, John. Redoing the logos was on my to-do list. I have uploaded both.

The subSilver looks great. I am wondering if we should use white text for the Prosilver to match the rest of the text in the cyan header.

I am also trying to figure out how to center "The OBOD Message Board" text. Adding spaces in front does not move it over. (I used a mod in phpBB2 which allowed sticky spaces). So I am wondering if we should make a logo that includes that text. With white we might need a squarish sans-serif font that does not need much antialiasing or use the cyan gradient as an antialiasing background. It will take some playing. The Font used now for the H1 tag is Trebuchet MS.

Any suggestions for Druidic fonts

The image size parameters are easily changed in the Admin. control panel.

No problem at all, glad you like them. They're just a couple of quickies but I thought they might do for now. ;-)

Yeah, I was wondering that too but when I tried it out as a test it looked a bit of a mess at a glance due to the all white text going in two different directions... anyway, I'll reply to your PM and continue the discussion there.
