What time is it??

Postby Severina » 25 Oct 2007, 17:52

Hiya,

I am in UK and it is currently 16.30. On my display on the message board, it's telling me it's 17.49? I have been posting messages and they are all showing with the later time on them?

I have checked my settings and it is set to GMT.

Just wondered?

:)

Argh... it's getting worse. It's now 19.17 local time but the board says 20.38???

Ha ha ha :)

yes they do.

Maybe it will correct itself by then - at the moment I am living in the future on this board.

Makes a change from me living in the past I guess...................

Yes, it's a picture I took a few months ago. It was raining and I just did the old 'point and press' and it came out quite nicely. The stones in the picture are just framed by the trees. It looks almost as if I knew what I was doing! :)

The time thing is very odd - my pc says 19.46 but the site says 21.04!

Glad I'm not the only one though. Although you are only 15 mins out??

its a fine portrait of them!

I've only been once and they were shrouded in mist , it was a special time to visit and I was lucky!

As for the difference in time ? It's really odd .
Maybe the OBOD clock needs winding-up?

It's set to 'yes' but I haven't touched it.

I haven't specifically set any of those things - they were like that when I started.

Shall I change it and see what happens............ it can't really get any worse can it?

Ade, you're a genius :yay:

I switched it to 'no' and now i'm only out by 20 mins! That's good enough for me. My pc says 20.07 and the board says 20.27.

That'll do for me.

Thanks for your help. I'm off to have a lie down now......... far to technical for me :)

So close to Samhain, the time of no time, is it any wonder?
By the way, we're all planning on weird things happening here in the States with our pooters. Traditionally, DST ended the last Saturday/Sunday of October, but here it's delayed a week due to the politicians mucking things up.

I am so confused about what time it is (not being sucker enough to enter into a political discussion). It's 1:45 AM (Thursday night/Friday morning), and my message board page shows Friday, October 26, 2007 8:08 AM.

Am I remembering things that never happened, or did we once have our actual times on these pages?

Although we are all on different Global times, I wonder if it is also picking up on the PC time?

Try checking to see if your PC is set to the right time - I use Rocket Time to pick up the atomic clocks around the world.

My PC is set correctly. I tried adding one of those Google gadget World Clock things, and I could never get Google to tell me how to set them. I am totally lost!

None of the times posted on the board jibe with the one on my PC. The board shows 7:03 AM and it is 1:04 AM. So, is the board using England time?

Hiya Twig. Yes, the Board is set to GMT. To change this so that it displays your particular time zone you will need to edit your profile through the User Control Panel. Click on Board Preferences and the first page (Edit Global settings) should be where you change your time zone. There is a drop down box that allows you to pick the time zone. Let me know if you have any difficulty changing it.
