Good morning everyone, just got back from a 12 hour night shift.
It was incredibly w00t filled!

Oh yes, the rock truck itself is 40 tons, and can carry a load of 40 tons. I usually haul ore, mine waste, clay and rocks. I'm working at Birch Tree mine right now hauling clay to get to the bed rock so we can blast and start a new pit.

I work 7pm to 7am, every day for 40 days straight now, and then I get 5 days off. Nightshift!

Anyways, the crew are all pretty young guys (Ages being 18 (Youngest employee in all of the company (me)) and up 30ish. A few of the guys decided to try and climb the hole with the trucks, there is about 3 feet of snow and the clay underneath is frozen with a slick ice top. I was sitting in the crew cab waiting to get my truck back from Joel (I was in a Cat D8 dozer) and me and my boss were watching to see who could make it up over the top. No one made it, they all cam pretty close though. So then it was my turn to drive, I backed up over the hill and went from the very top from the one side and then held the pedal to the floor. I made it about 3 from the top and then I slid all the way down and almost rolled my truck. Luckily, my superior driving skills took over and I avoided rolling. My co-workers were stunned I got that far, we decided to have "Rock Truck Olympics". The events include; Hill climbing, Racing, Jumping and whatever other crazy things we can think of.

Last night I found it was possible to get air in a 40 ton truck, so far I've been the only one in the company's history to actually get the truck off the ground and go into the air and land "safely"
