Glad your feeling inspired. It is such an amazing aspect to my life, to just get away from it all with bottle of juice
and create your own spiritual corner. Yesterday I planted some early veg and honeysuckle! Then kicked back and did a bit of writing. However it can be hard work so I advise on some help and a big whip!
Also waiting lists are extensive so I would suggest a field trip to a few sites and talk to some of the residence. They are always happy to point you in the right direction and give you a few names. This helps because some plots get abandoned or unused and sit without the council knowing about it
Then call whoever is in charge and let them know of your circumstances
I have a north Tyneside plot and they are very good I can get skips and basic materials free. I don’t know about Newcastle but you can give em a try. I have attached a couple of linksBB

Been digging up some patches in preparation for planting too, but I don’t know what to plant where yet! I created a suitable workspace in the green house, as I was running out of room! Its amazing how much junk accumulated there in such a short time.
