Is there a server problem?

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to ask whether there are problems with the server: In the last days, every item takes ages to load, and the board times out regularly on my computer. Yesteray, I was unable to log in at all, and while I can get in today, it is VERY slow and frequently crashes.

Any idea?

Our site host had an internal problem roughly two days ago and this board, along with many others, was down for an extended period of time. Since that event, the board has been acting quite strange. The problems are being resolved however we don't have a clue as to when things will be completely back to normal.

So please bear with us and keep the faith! We'll be back to normal as soon as possible.

Yesterday, I could not get on druidry.org or any subdomains at all, this after a router problem and a DNS attack on our host was resolved.

I put in a support request and our server load and memory use spiked to nearly a sustained 1 gig which shut down our SQL server. This now appears resolved.

I am not sure of the cause. I had installed a new gallery program called ZenPhoto which may have been causing some sort of continuous loop, so I deleted it. It is also possible that druidry.org was undergoing a DNS attack or spambot attack of its own.

Did anyone notice an excessive number of guests yesterday or weird bots?

Hi Kernos. There is a new bot, MSNMedia that seems to be online more. No idea if this is contributing to the cause.

Yes, so far as I know, the outages are all due to problems within the server company. They are apparently having to replace a lot of their hardware at the moment, in addition to some human-error problems last week, and we don't know when everything will get resolved. I'm sorry for all the inconvenience; this is a PITA for all of us.

I've had to login here using the computers in my local library - which are excruciatingly slow, hence one post in 15 mins... My home computer won't let me log in, even though it used to! Cookies are enabled, the firewall behaves itself.... There's only one thing for it =

This is obviously a problem local to your computer. What OS, version and browser do you use?
