Hello everyone,

I registered with this forum a while ago and feel the time has come to introduce myself and provide an insight to my way of life. My name is Steve, 54, and I live with my partner Lynne and our four children in Hampshire, England.

A little background information - my parents, whilst accepting Christianity, were not regular churchgoers but did find comfort in their faith during distressing times. I was raised in a loving, caring family and allowed to follow and develop my own beliefs. Whilst at school, being born into a society encumbered with a state religion, it was inevitable that the grains of Christianity would descend upon me throughout my academic life - but to no avail.

With the coming of adulthood and independence so began my spiritual quest and, in common with many here I suspect, I investigated many other faiths and beliefs and at times even considered myself an atheist. It was after considering all the facets of my life - my interests, hobbies and lifestyle since I was a child that I realised that there was a thread. It was my love and wonder of nature and being natural within that environment - relating with the Earth, flora and fauna around me and feeling the elements upon my naked body. Thus, it is within the Pagan community that I gain some comfort among folk that, I hope, understand my feelings.

At present, I practise simple, solitary skyclad rituals within my spiritual bower - a small clearing in nearby woodland overseen by my sentinel oak. The manner in which I present myself during ritual is important to me because it declares that I am not ashamed of the body graced to me by the Mother spirit. A factor that I fear will always prevent me from joining groups.

I am here to learn from you all and, where I can, offer support and advice.

Hey all

Since I always have problems with introducing myself one way or another, I just start with the story about how I got here, and see where I get

I have been on a spiritual journey for quite a few years, feeling that atheïsm wasn't quite covering up for my 'feelings'. My sis just 'started' with Wicca, and altho it looked interesting, it just wasn't it. I kept on searching the net, and family/friends, and eventually stumbled over OBOD. I looked at the website, read some info, thought it was ok, and went on. After a little while I came across OBOD again. Read some more, did a little detour to the Dutch website, and went on again. I met my ex, Love of it, instead of the Fear of it (as is in quite some forms of Christianity), but also that wasn't quite it...
I went on, kept looking about, stumbled over the OBOD again, and finaly desided to order the introductory package, and after that, I went up for the Bardic grade. When I started working with the lessons, it kinda felt natural to me. And thus, I ended up here.
And so, this forum got one madman richer :P

This 'I' I am talking about is quite obviously just me: Muaddhib (Chimerae). I'm an (almost) 25 years old crazy Dutchman from the city of Gouda. I work in a hospital in Amsterdam, as a lab-guy who tries to find out what bacteria/virus/fungus/parasite/something makes someone sick (there must be something shorter for that...).
I have the tendency to help everyone, and everything, even people who didn't ask for my advise/help in the first place.
I usualy have a habbit of role-playing, especially when I have difficulties expressing myself... When that doesn't work, I resort to tale-telling (see above ).
(note: role-play mode is usually recognizable by "actions" which are highlited by *. Like: *stumbles into the bar* Hey everyone)

Ow, one other thing, if you happen to find a chronically misspelled word, some Denglish or anything else that's not really (or really not) English, please feel free to correct me
