Hey all. We have been enjoying some great weather and are coming along swimmingly at Hazel Grove! The path is complete and we now have our greenhouse/poly tunnel up, as it was getting a bit crammed in the main one. Here are a few updates!
Hey all, I have been greatly inspired by clicking on a link from a post by otter oonagh viewtopic.php?f=80&t=27764 Does anyone know of any such places in the North East? I would love to create a whole village like this, and just leave the commercial world! Or maybe just build a little shelter like it at the grove. Anyway Im off up to the grove today to get some graft and seeds in. I think ill play around with some wood too!
I've just found this thread and have been spending time enjoying your progress on Hazel Grove.
Glad you are enjoying it so far Crowsfeet! Im loving every moment im there. If I could, id give it all up and spend my time sowing growing and creating! Well im back up there today so id better start getting in to gear!
ooh! so lovely! And such a lot of work, too! I saw this post before, but must have been tired because I didnt' realize there were six pages of updates (duh!) I absoltuely LOVE the weathered bricks. Out here in the Western US it is tough to get bricks like that because everything is so dry, they just stay the same forever. (I have found mummified animals and some perfectly formed dehydrated mushrooms!)
Keep up the good work! I love what you're doing, and so, apparently do you!
Love the herb circle you've made, This weekends weather has been great for working on the allotments, and has'nt everything shot up? i get very excited when things grow a few inch!! only a fellow allotmenter would understand! Have you been to the website http://www.growveg.com They have a page on creating an ecosystem for natural pest contol, and organic growing.
Yay. A baby radish!!! My daughter just moved to an acreage with a log cabin. They are going to have a large garden, an orchard, some chickens and goats as well as cats & dogs! I'll be able to go out and get my fingers dirty!! I am so excited!!
