It's Gaelic, not Welsh, and it means "Soul Friend."

There's a few weeks, i read in a french (i'm french)/welsh dictionnary that "enaid" is "soul" ; do you agree with this ? Can we translate "enaid" by "life" or "soul" ?

Hi Kaouenn,

I hope my memorey is right here, but I thought Welsh Enaid was the exact equivalent of Irish Anam, like Breton Ene. So that must do the trick.

Quite a few of the Welsh translations here are incorrectly translated (incorrect mutations, incorrect word order etc).

Seeing as "Anam Cara" means "Soul Friend," then you could use any of the following;

"Ffrind Enaid" - literally "Soul Friend"

Art, "enaid chyfaill" means "Soul Pal," and the mutation and word order is wrong; it should be "Cyfaill Enaid," and "enaid anwylyd" should be "Anwylyd Enaid," although it does not mean "life beloved," but "Soul Beloved."
