Mmmm, Vernors!! When I was a kid, we had a set of Vernors drinking mugs printed with recipes: Vernors Cold, where you pour the ginger ale of vanilla ice cream; and Vernors Hot, where you heat in in a pan and garnish with a cinnamon stick. I'm here to tell you, it's good both ways! :) :gulp:

OK, Ghostie. You're forgiven. Hope you have a great time at Keltfest. Meat 'n mead -- great grub for a manly man!!
I was just teasing you -- now that you're single and all.... :D

Well, my life is worth nothing as I have never tasted Vernor's. I don't know whether to mix it with ice cream or take it straight... I guess it'll have to be the latter if I want to be accepted as a virtual Michigander. (Congrats on that first w0000t, RTF -- now you'll be W000ting all the time.)

Rolling down a hill for cheese -- now, there's something I haven't ever had a chance to do. Not sure I'd want to, either! There's bound to be a story there.

It occurs to me that we are rather heavy on milk products here. Ice cream, cheese, mousse, etc. And we've got Vernor's, enchiladas, and pizza. Definitely not a very healthy gathering. Carbs & sugar. Maybe someone should make a salad? Oh, duh. What am I thinking?!?! :o We are R0wdies, after all!

Take your Vernors however you usually take your ginger ale. Personally, I can't see what's so special about it--ginger ale is ginger ale. If you want something special from Michigan, you should have Faygo...no one makes soda quite like Faygo! (Mmm...red pop!)

Well, since you said salad, I've got my dish. I'll bring a Caesar salad from Carrabba's! Their homemade dressing is so good, it makes my hair stand on end (sometimes)!

Well, Rhiannonn, the problem is that I don't usually drink anything with bubbles, unless I am in the mood for a cold beer. In the past, I have been a fan of both root beer and ginger ale, but not in old age. :old:

Your Fayo must be like our version of Big Red. It's a major seller in South Texas. It's sort of a cream soda and really sweet.

At last! something healthy! (It's OK --- you can still be a R0wdy.) What's in that salad dressing, anyway??

Red Pop is but one of the many flavors of Faygo! My father's favorite is Rock 'n' Rye (a creme soda), but we've both been known to drink Moon Mist from time to time (which is like Mountain Dew). (Note that the word Faygo above is a link...that will take you to the website, which can tell you much more than I can.)

Unfortunately, I was a hostess and not a server, so I cannot tell you precisely what is in it (and the online menu doesn't say)...but trust me...it's fab! :D

Now, Mistress Twig, would you please be so kind as to inform me of the requirements for becoming an official Rowdy?

Thank you. :curtsey:

Wooooooootttt!
Vernors! I haven't had one of those in a long time. I'll also have some of Rhiannon's salad if she doesn't mind, if you have something healthy to begin with, everything else counts as healthy, right?

OK, pizza it is. I would think that there would be some sort of soul food along the banks of the mightly Mississippi? But that's a l-o-n-g river! Besides, pizza, enchiladas and chocolate mousse cover three of the four major food groups!

[Hope it's better than the last pizza we constructed here. It required Beano].

Alas, I'm on the northern reaches of the great river, not the southern. And yes, it is much better than the last pizza. No one's played twister on it... well, not yet anyway, can't be too sure around here.

Ais -- well, I think your logic is perfectly sound for R0wdy purposes. Rhiannon's salad bumps the menu up to "healthy enough." What's on the pizza? Maybe it's "healthy enough," too!

So, Rhiannon, as far as I know, there have never been any specific requirements for one to quality as a R0wdy. It does help to have an off-beat sense of humor and a willingness to act outrageously immature on occasion. We've had costume parties, food fights, and votes for whether or not a R0wdy should grow and beard or not. (Said member is male).

The best I can tell, the R0wdy seedgroup is just a place to blow off steam and be somewhat ridiculous. It was "founded" by Ghostrider and Baobab (I think -- can't exactly remember) forever ago, and has just kept going and going and going. If you're willing to misbehave, I think you'll find yourself quite at home!

Pop a top on a Faygo and pull up a stool. :shake:

I don't mind sharing my salad at all! I can conjure up more if necessary. ;)

I don't have to apply for a Image then? (A Rowdy Permit? :-) )

No permit required! I don't have one because I am computer illiterate.

Fair enough. :)

By the by: I sold my Nintendo DS on eBay today and 10% of it went to the Dorough Lupus Foundation! $10.50 isn't a great deal of money, but when the Dorough family has fallen on a difficult and emotional time (as with the hit of double cancer), I'm sure every donation comes as a source of comfort (even when it's not for a cancer foundation). (If you're not familiar with my "one woman vigil" and what I was referencing above, click here.) And if my Xbox 360 sells for the Buy It Now price, that's another $23!

I posted those items before I found out about Hoke's illness and I decided to donate 10% of the final price just for the heck of it. Now selling them is more important than ever! I'm glad to be a source of comfort (no matter how unusual)...and I'm also glad to help Lupus research, because I never want it to turn into the epidemic that cancer has!

Alright, enough of me being semi-depressing. Someone throw a pie or something! |-)

Glad to hear you found Hoondje, hope you get him back real soon. Sometimes, cats get a taste for the outdoor life after a while and are not willing to return, especially not in summer :???:

Twig wrote:And no hitting on the new Rowdy, RhiannonTheFair, Ghostie. Behave yourself.

Ghostie couldn't behave if his life depended on it - I am pretty sure he has no inkling what you ask for. That is why we love him

Anyway, there I am, all alone on a Friday afternoon, and as soon s I walk out the pub, the place is overflowing. Ahh, the story of my life....

Still, it feels good to be free, no more studying, I actually get to read real books again and have time to tend my garden :yay: And to participate in the R0wdy lifestyle again...

Here is what I would bring: Kaesespaetzle, a suabian specialty similar to Maccaroni and Cheese, but MUUUUCH better. I sometimes dream of it up here in Scotland. And German beer, even though Dundee currently has a German Beer Festival - it is just not the same. :gloomy: And BTW: This is the outlook in my office currently: rainy and grey....

He was spotted last week and we've looked for him but we didn't find him! I'm very very :gloomy:. I miss him soooo much! He's gone for a month now. Which is way tooooo long.

So, Aylyn -- Congrats on your new-found freedom. What have you been up to?

Rhinanon -- 'Tis a very kind thing you are doing. We R0wdies should pay attention to your TLC. Lupus is a relative of the disease I fight with daily, so I am gratified that there is someone out there who really cares about doing something positive. A mighty round of applause for RTF!!   You rock, girl! Here's one on the house:

Willow -- Have you found your brain yet? I hope mine is there with your's because it's been missing for a few days now. Maybe they're both with Cal. He actually has a brain. Perhaps our's were in search of entertainment? :D

Mey -- Boo hoo...   A false alarm. You had your hopes up and they were dashed. I am so sorry about your wayward kitty. I know you are missing him terribly. Tell me his official name again (I am so dense!) and I'll post a prayer request. Maybe all of us pulling together will get his attention.

ennys -- Love your new name! What is its meaning?

I feel one coming on; w00000000000000000000000000000000000t!!!
