Samhuinn is traditionally a time of change – of opening to the unexpected and of letting go of old patterns to make way for the new.
This year we’re going to honour the spirit of camps and of Samhuinn by giving the team who work so hard all through the year a much-needed chance to rest,
recuperate, and nourish themselves as a team, and spend time improving and revisioning the way camps work.
This means that there will be no official OBOD camp this Samhuinn, but if you would like to camp at Wildways during this time, Elaine & Garth would be delighted to see you. They are happy to provide a spiritual and practical mini-camp at the minimal cost of £12 per head per day, catering included, provided you give them a few hours each day to help in various projects, including completing an Iron Age roundhouse. There will be seasonal rites, initiations, talks, workshops, music, dreamtime concerts, etc. Dates: October 24th to November 2nd. Maximum 30 people plus extras if you bring your own tent. More details to follow. See their website www.wildwaysontheborle.co.uk <http://www.wildwaysontheborle.co.uk/> or email Elaine at <eln.greg@virgin.net <mailto:eln.greg@virgin.net> > Or call 01746 861992 for more information.
The camp team will be meeting for three days around this time, and for practical reasons the team is defined as those people who maintain specific roles from camp to camp. Already that brings the number up to 17 people, and much as we’d like to include dedicated members who crew from time to time or have worked in specific roles in the past, we do need the numbers to be manageable – but rest assured we really value your contribution to camps.
Blessings for the Autumn and Samhuinn,
Philip /|\
