A small Rowan tree grew peacefully in the church yard next to the house where I live until the church people decided they wanted to destroy the tree and hedgerow to put down tarmac and and wooden fence.

I tried to get a preservation order on the Rowan - but it was not considered 'special' enough to protect.
However with the support of the local community the pressure we put on the church saved both the hedgerow and the tree.

Before Solstice I lit a candle by the tree and cut a sprig of mistletoe from her to decorate my home.

Bright blessings
