Now I'm reading someone's PhD thesis on the acoustic and visual signals of domestic fowl. I'm now looking forward to being able to read the books I got for the Solstice....

Glad you enjoyed that Golden King book, as I've just sent off a cheque for it! :D

Currently reading (or trying to - I keep it in my car and read bits and pieces of it during odd moments, NOT while driving! lol) "The Celtic Way of Seeing" by Frank MacEowen.

I've been looking around at my vast collection of books and have vowed not to buy any new ones until I've read what I have. Which should take, oh, ten years or so...

I've just picked up a massive tome called "The 7 Basic Plots - Why we tell stories" by Christopher Booker. An exploration not ony of basic patterns of stories but an investigation on why we tell stories and why they are so important to us as humans.

I have vowed not to buy any books this year as have 10 (yes 10!) on loan to read!
Am currently reading my last purchase of 2008 which is 'The witching way of the hollow hill' by Robin Artisson.
Do I need to duck for cover as on other forums at the mention of his name? :???:

Edited for spelling!

Here's another Pratchett fan. But at the moment I am reading a novel by Alice Seabold. I have the Dutch translation, not sure what this one is called in English (Shadowmoon ....? It's her second I think). I loved her first book, just got to chapter three on this one.

I'm reading "I figli del Nilo" (Nilo's son) of Wilbur Smith, and a long article about Devayoga.

I'm reading "Nation" by Terry Pratchett and while its a good story its definately taking more to "get into" than his other novels... its much deeper in meaning and not, in my opinion, as overtly funny. Maybe its what he wanted to write with his current condition in mind; something thought provoking...

Another big Pratchett fan here. At the moment, I'm reading By Oak, Ash and Thorn by D.J. Conway. It was the only book I could find in Heffers about anything vaguly occult! Borders and Waterstones both have a good occult section, but very little on Druidry. I'm not that far into it, but it is a fancinating book. I don't intend, at least not yet (who knows what the future holds), to become a shaman, but I like to research as much as I can about Celtic Paganism, as I cannot start the OBOD course for another year. Can anyone recommend any books more related to modern Druidry that are good for beginners?

Stayed in bed all morning and finished Follett's "World Without End" - a novel set in the 1300's and inspired by cathedral building. You should all join us on GoodReads.com (it's free) and you can share all the books you read. We started a Druid Reading List there, please contribute:

Fell off the chair laughing. Twig made me do it! Bandaged the bleeding now. I'm reading Arctic Dreams by Barry Lopez. Written in 1986 when the Arctic still had ice most of the year. (What a difference only a few years has made.) Expands one's imagination as far as the powerful allies and friends we have True North. Highly recommended.
