JOHN MARTYN

Postby queenbeebear » 29 Jan 2009, 17:06

John Martyn singer songwriter and inovator to a generation of guitarists has died aged 60.
His seminal work "Solid Air" will be up there with the classic albums of the folk/jazz/blues genre. He was a hard drinker, and often a tricky man to understand, but a genius and I for one will be playing his music tonight and raising a glass in his honour.
Miss you so much.
Blessings

To John Martyn!!!

I was fortunate enough to see John Martyn twice , once at Birmingham Town Hall on a double bill with Roy Harper , and once at a festival , his guitar playing was so utterly amazing and his voice was just unearthly at times .

I'll also be playing Solid Air tonight .
